About Abbie

Abbie is currently a 17 year licensed social worker in the state of Michigan. She graduated from Hope College with a degree in Social Work and a minor in psychology. She received her graduate degree from the University of Michigan School of Social Work. Abbie is originally from the west side of the state and moved to the Detroit area after graduate school.

She works with a wide range of issues and age ranges. She has spent the majority of her work experience working with adults inpatient in the hospital setting. She is well versed in life transitions, trauma, crisis management, grief, loss, anxiety, and depression. She has also spent a lot of time working with people who have cancer, chronic illness and terminal illness.

For over 2 years Abbie volunteered her services to a youth program focusing on adjustment to illness, hair loss, cancer and chronic illness. Abbie feels a special connection with young women who are trying to cope with the pressures that high school and college pose.

When not working, Abbie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her dog and traveling. She enjoys traveling to Holland, Mi and spending time by the lake.
